Treatment Pedagogues Wanted at SiS Youth Home Tysslinge for Summer Substitute 2026

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with addiction. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with addiction across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Tysslinge, located outside Södertälje, receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminal behavior and addiction.

Job Description

We are now looking for treatment pedagogues for summer substitutes 2026 at SiS Youth Home Tysslinge.

SiS Youth Home Tysslinge is an institution in the highest security class that receives youth with high risks of threats, violence, and absconding.

In the role of treatment pedagogue, you work in a team and together you are responsible for ensuring that the youth in our care receive the structure, safety, care, and treatment they need. We meet young people in crisis, which means that we must support the individual in their daily life through individually tailored and qualified care and motivational work with clear structures. With the support of your and your colleagues' knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work for planning and follow-up of treatment. You also participate in the youth's schooling and leisure activities. Daily tasks may include:

  • Conducting inspections of shared department spaces, admitted youth, and living quarters.
  • Transporting youth and supervising during scheduled visits, meetings, and activities outside the department.
  • Cleaning.
  • Preparing meals.
  • Continuously working closely with the youth to ensure good social interaction and safety in the department.

Since SiS Youth Home Tysslinge has the highest security classification within SiS, it means that you need to work with high risk and safety awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.

This is a job for you who can stand firm, who creates safety and security in the often very difficult life situations of the youth. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. As a public servant, it is important that you act professionally and in accordance with objectivity and legal certainty. As a summer substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Working Hours and Schedule

The working hours are scheduled, either 100% day, evening, and weekend, or 80% night shifts on weekdays and weekends. The working hours for day, evening, and weekend 100% may look like the following: 08:15-15:45, 08:15-22:15, 09:00-22:15, 11:15-21:15/23:00. The working hours for night shifts 80% may look like the following: 20:45-08:30, 21:00-08:30.

As a summer substitute, you are expected to be able to work according to the above schedule (day/evening or night) between weeks 26-33 (June 22 - August 16). Introduction will take place before the start during weeks 24-25, where the first week is theoretical introduction and the second week is practical introduction in the department.

There is an opportunity for earlier introduction and extra work during the spring. There may also be opportunities for continued employment after the summer.

Summer Bonus

During 2026, as a summer substitute, you have the opportunity to receive a summer bonus if you work full-time for more than 4 weeks. To qualify for the summer bonus, you must first complete 4 full weeks of work and can then receive a bonus of 2500 SEK for each completed week (within Tysslinge's vacation periods weeks 26-33). The bonus is proportional to the work volume (100% or 80%) and deductions for absence will be made.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a humanistic view of people. You are motivated to support people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a very good ability to create good relationships, engagement, and participation among our youth. As a person, you are secure in yourself and contribute to a good working environment with other staff. You have good communication skills, consistently follow laws, regulations, and routines. You can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with different professions as well as internal and external partners and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You should also have:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a degree from a university that we assess as equivalent
  • Good Swedish in spoken and written form

Meritorious:

  • Experience of youth-related work
  • If you have experience working with youth in vulnerable situations
  • If you have training in MI (motivational interviewing)
  • Driving license B

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Please attach certificates showing that you have completed upper secondary education and post-secondary education.

Employment:

Temporary employment, summer substitute. Scope: Full-time 100% day/evening or part-time 80% night. Working hours: Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.
